Recreation

A variety of recreation and leisure opportunities exist in North Bay. They include arts, culture and heritage activities, nature activities and the City of North Bay’s community programs and services. We also have organized clubs producing Olympic-class athletes in a number of sports.

North Bay’s natural environment features access to 3,400 km of groomed snowmobile trails, close proximity to 8 golf courses, 6 marinas, 42 beaches, 74 park areas and access to 100+ km of multi-use trails. Additional features within city limits include Duchesnay Falls, Laurentian Ski Hill and two large lakes with uninhibited vistas and vacant islands.A photo of four skiers on a chair lift

The Community Waterfront Park on Lake Nipissing is the heartbeat  of our city. Featuring a magnificent walkway, bike trails, beautiful gardens, museum, public marina, a lakeside restaurant, and daily scheduled boat cruises; this is where we celebrate our heritage with festivals, carousels, a heritage train and the most spectacular sunsets imaginable.

Far beyond simple amenities, North Bay offers dining that is among the finest in all of Canada, the largest performing arts theatre in Northern Ontario and an array of shopping experiences, from big box to boutique.

More information about all the great things to see and do in North Bay is available on the City of North Bay’s website.
